With classic flavors ranging from flower infusions like the jamaica, fruit mixes like the tart limonata, or the smooth and creamy horchata, the agua frescas encompass a wide variety of tastes to guarantee something refreshing for everyone. Now available in most grocery stores next to the orange juice, Minute Maid's new line of canned Aguas Frescas make finding new summer flavors effortless.

In a reversal to the spa water controversies of yesteryear, beverage innovators are looking to introduce the agua fresca experience to hard seltzer. “The popularity of hard seltzers was skyrocketing, but I quickly realized that they didn’t have the same flavors I was used to,” Picadas founder Hugo Martinez said in a release. “I craved the agua fresca flavors I grew up with — limonada, guava, and mango — that none of the American ready-to-drink options really captured.” Martinez even insisted on using tart key limes in the limonata flavor as “that’s how Mexican limonadas are prepared.”

Outside the grocery aisle, the tradition of Aguas Frescas continues to find new inspirations from tradition. “I love to enjoy mazapanes as is,” Ericka Sanchez of Nibbles and Feasts shares. “Carefully out of the package, but when you have a full box, you must make agua fresca.  If you like horchata, you will love agua de mazapán.  It’s creamy and refreshing, just like horchata but with a hint of peanut.”
