Innovation Spotlight - Coffee Lives Más in Irvine

For the first time ever, Taco Bell tosses its sombrero into the premium coffee ring and is releasing frozen coffee and shakes to test locations in Southern California! Coffee Chillers and Churro Chillers have rolled out in Mission Viejo, CA and Irvine, CA respectively, and are available all day while supplies last to pair equally well with a Breakfast Crunchwrap or a Mexican Pizza.

The Coffee Chillers are swirled with one of three flavors (Mexican Chocolate, Dulce De Leche, and Caramel Churro), blended with ice coffee, and topped with a layer of cold foam akin to other trending handcrafted beverages. The Churro Chillers swap out the ice coffee for a sweet cream shake base and are offered in Wild Strawberry and Sweet Vanilla Churro in addition to the three Coffee Chiller flavors without the iced coffee.

In line with other contemporary handcrafted beverages from other cafes in what analysts are calling “The Fourth Wave of Coffee”, the Chillers strive for visual appeal along with signature taste, with the Sweet Vanilla Chiller Churro in particular using a purple syrup to sport the same color scheme as Taco Bell’s new logo.

“We’re always pushing the boundaries to deliver bold and craveable Mexican-inspired flavors our fans have come to expect from us and these frozen drinks showcase how far our innovation goes,” said Taco Bell U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery. “We are constantly listening to what our fans are craving next and we are thrilled to offer them a frozen creation that’s just as delicious and desirable as their favorite menu item.”
